"I I founded LetsBreakdownLaw and Law in Colour with a simple yet urgent goal: to make the law clear, accessible, and empowering for everyone, regardless of their background. The law shouldn't be a barrier; it should be a bridge."
I’m the founder of LetsBreakdownLaw and director of Go Genius and Calibres Club. I’ve always been a self-starter, building my ventures from the ground up while balancing my academic journey. I am currently pursuing an LLM at Queen Mary's, specialising in commercial and corporate law after just finishing my LLB from SOAS, where I have developed a global perspective on law through curricula and modules that explore both European and non-European legal systems.
My interest in law began at fifteen during a work experience placement at Stirling Ackroyd Legal. Seeing the practical side of the profession, and how legal expertise could be combined with industry insight to solve real problems, was a turning point for me. Since then, I’ve been driven to make a meaningful impact both in business and within the legal space having done work experience at DWF, Addleshaw Goddard and Latham and Watkins.
Over the past few years, I’ve led teams, opened offices, sponsored schools, and helped young people access opportunities they might otherwise be excluded from. I founded LetsBreakdownLaw to break down barriers for students like me, those from underrepresented backgrounds who just need the right tools, guidance, and confidence to succeed in law. Through this platform, I’m committed to supporting social mobility, building awareness, and creating a more inclusive legal future.
“Law shouldn’t be an exclusive circle... It should be an open door.”
I’m a Law graduate from SOAS University of London, aspiring to qualify as a commercial lawyer specialising in legal technology.
As Vice President of Law In Colour, I’ve led initiatives to drive diversity and inclusion across the legal sector organising events, workshops, and partnerships that connect students with opportunities they might not otherwise access. I also represented Addleshaw Goddard as a Brand Ambassador, where I built strong relationships between students and the firm, hosting standout events recognised for their creativity and impact.
My legal journey includes experience with firms such as Aviva, Foot Anstey, Macfarlanes, Clifford Chance, and PwC, where I’ve developed skills in commercial litigation, employment, and client-focused legal research. Each role has deepened my commercial awareness and reinforced my commitment to a profession that embraces both innovation and inclusion.
Beyond law, I’m an entrepreneur. As the founder of Bakes by Nyra, I turned creativity into a business, building a brand, growing a client base, and managing every aspect from marketing to customer service. Running my own business has sharpened my resilience and strategic thinking, qualities I carry into my legal career.
Coming from a disadvantaged background, I know first-hand the barriers many aspiring lawyers face. That’s why I’m committed to breaking them down. For me, law isn’t just about practice, it’s about access, opportunity, and impact.
"Representation in law isn't just important, it's essential. If we want real change, we need to create space for voices that have been overlooked for too long. Through Law in Colour and Let'sBreakDownLaw I’m proud to help make that space a reality."
Stepping into the role of President for Law in Colour is both a privilege and a responsibility I take with pride. This society embodies a fundamental commitment, to diversity, representation, and accessibility in a profession that has historically excluded many. Through Let’sBreakdownLaw, I’m proud to lead initiatives that help students from all walks of life feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue their legal ambitions.
Over the years, I’ve built experience that reflects not just my interest in law, but my commitment to equity and community. I’ve participated in the Social Mobility Business Partnership, taken part in insight days with top firms like Allen & Overy, Wedlake Bell, and Travers Smith, and volunteered with organisations focused on education and mentoring. These experiences have shaped my understanding of what it means to lead with purpose, not just for myself, but for those coming after me.
As I enter my penultimate year at SOAS, I bring with me not only legal insight but also lived experience and a strong belief in collaborative leadership. I’ve worked as a tutor, contributed to educational outreach, and engaged with the legal sector through events and networking opportunities that continue to expand my perspective.
As President, I’m committed to working alongside our team to create meaningful opportunities for our members, from skills-based support to inclusive conversations and impactful partnerships. Together, we’re not just talking about change, we’re building it.
